Magician David Scott is great with the children

 

Here is a rabbit theme cake is fun and easy to make! Have the birthday boy or girl help in the kitchen to make this extra special!

You will need:
  • Two 9-inch round cake pans
  • A box of your favorite cake mix
  • Your favorite white frosting
  • Approximately 2 cups of flake coconut
  • Red food coloring
  • A bag of small gum drops
  • Red and black licorice laces

 

1. Follow the directions on your cake box and mix-up and bake your two 9-inch cakes and let cool until firm. Cut one cake layer as shown in the photo to the right. Leave the other layer whole.

2. Tint 1/4 cup of coconut flakes pink with the red food coloring. Use a small bowl to mix the color with the coconut.

3. Lay your cut out cake pieces around the whole round cake as displayed in the photo to the right. Use a large cookie sheet or tin foil covered cardboard as a platform to hold your cake. You should start to see the rabbit coming together now!

4. Layer your favorite white frosting on the cake and use the frosting to help hold the pieces together.

Bunny Cake example from Magician David Scott 5. Sprinkle the frosted cake with the remaining coconut flakes and place the pink dyed coconut along the ears which are marked with a "B" in the photo.

6. Decorate with the licorice laces and gum drops as displayed to the right or create your own fancy design!
