Below are some suggestions of fun activities you can do at your next magic party!
The Magic Box: You will need one large box and several boxes of different sizes for this game. Before your party, find small gifts for the number of guests attending and place them in boxes of varying sizes and place them in one bigger box. When finished you should have one large wrapped box with all of the other smaller boxes with prizes inside. At game time, the players sit in a circle and start some fun fast music, the children pass the box around the circle as quickly as possible. When you stop the music, the player holding the box must say the magic word "Abracadabra" and open the box. (Don't tell the childrens there are other boxes inside.) Once a player opens a smaller gift from inside he or she must leave the circle. Play continues until all the children have opened the box and received a gift. *Tip: It would be best to stop the music on the first time around so the Birthday child gets to open the initial large box. You may also make this a non-elimination game if when the music stops the child has already opened a gift box they must pass the box to the next child in the circle. This way no children are left out of the game at all. Magic Jelly Beans: Before your party, fill a jar with black and white jelly beans. (Count and record the total number of jelly beans before putting them into the jar.) Have the children take guesses as to how many jelly beans are in the jar. Write each child's guess, give several guesses to make it more fun! At the end of the party, announce the correct number of beans. The child who guessed the closest to the number wins the jar and leaves the party with magic jelly bean jar! Magic Hat Trick: Place a top hat on the floor and circle the children around it. (The age of the child will determine their distance away from the hat.) Give all the children an equal number of playing cards and have them toss their cards into the hat. Whichever child gets the most cards in the hat wins! Magic Coloring Pages: Give each child a copy of our printable magic coloring page (pages found here) and an assortment of crayons. After the children finish coloring their pages, have them write their names on their pages. Hang their pages on the door or wall, or let them trade pages with their friends. Magic Card House: Have the children sit on the floor and give each guest a deck of cards. Have them build a card house. (demonstrate if neccessary) Set a time limit of 2 minutes and whoever builds the tallest card house wins!
